2018 Mazda CX-3: Compact but Capable
March 29 2018,
When the CX-3 first arrived just a few short years ago, it took the compact crossover market by storm, and for a good reason. Here was a vehicle that offered superior handling, stunning exterior design, and increased interior space over a car. And all for a very affordable price.
Well, the tradition continues with the 2018 Mazda CX-3, which remains largely unchanged from the 2017 model year, however, there is a special edition now available from Mazda.
To celebrate Mazda’s 50th Anniversary of selling cars in Canada, there is now a special edition 2018 Mazda CX-3 50th. Along with all the already stellar standard features (which we’ll get to in a moment), the CX-3 50th also comes equipped with a specially tune Bose stereo system, as well as leatherette-trimmed upholstery, advanced keyless entry system, and standard i-ACTIV AWD.
Of course, the non-50th 2018 Mazda CX-3 is just as enticing. Regardless of trim choice the CX-3 comes equipped with a SKYACTIV-G 2.0L 4-cylinder engine that’s good for 146 horsepower and the same amount of torque. With available FWD and AWD optional for all trim levels, only the base FWD GX can be paired with a 6-speed manual, the other trims only have the SKYACTIV-Drive 6-speed automatic.
Inside, the 2018 Mazda CX-3 is well appointed and designed to keep both the driver and passengers comfortable and informed. Mazda’s onboard MAZDA CONNECT system is easy to use and features satellite radio, Bluetooth capability, voice recognition, and navigation. HD Radio, aha, Stitcher is available, and your CX-3 can even read your text messages out to you.
Safety features include available Smart City Brake System that detects objects and/or cars in front and will give a warning then apply the brakes if need be to prevent a collision. Lane Depature Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Mazda Radar Crusie Control, and blind spot monitoring are also all available.
