2021 Mazda3: Worth a second look

The Mazda3 has stood out since it first arrived on the market over 15 years ago. The Mazda compact vehicle was the first to pair driving pleasure with the features that buyers want in this segment. This philosophy remains true to this day.

And now, the Mazda3 has once again surpassed its competition by being named the Canadian Car of the Year by the Automobile Journalists Association of Canada for the second year in a row. In the process it became the first ever car to be named Car of the Year in Canada for two consecutive years.

Mazda has designed its latest generation of Mazda3 and Mazda3 Sport compact sedans to be as fun and as dynamic as possible without compromising on efficiency and safety. Mazda has optimized the chassis to do more than just provide thrilling handling. The goal of the new 2021 Mazda3 was to provide unparalleled levels of comfort and driving pleasure.

That said, the Mazda3 offers even more technologies, many of which are exclusive to Mazda. Examples include G-Vectoring Control Plus (GVC Plus), which stabilizes the behaviour of the car for more precise handling and braking. In addition, for the first time in a Mazda3, an optional all-wheel-drive system is available. The i-ACTIV AWD system uses numerous sensors to predict the evolution of road conditions so that the system reacts immediately. The AWD system works in all driving situations, whether it be dry pavement, rain, or deep snow.

The Mazda3 and Mazda3 Sport with front-wheel drive can be powered by a frugal 2.0-litre 4-cylinder engine developing 155 horsepower or by a powerful 2.5-litre 4-cylinder developing 186 horsepower. You can choose between a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed automatic transmission. By opting for the i-ACTIV AWD system, the 6-speed automatic transmission and the 2.5-litre engine are standard.

New this year is a 2.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine which makes the Mazda3 one of the most powerful cars in its segment, no doubt about it.

Inside, the new Mazda3 will surround you with quality materials, intuitive infotainment systems, and advanced safety features. Mazda Connect’s infotainment system includes a large, well-designed 8.8-inch display. The user interface has been revised and the updated system now requires fewer entries for optimized user experience. Mazda i-ACTIVSENSE advanced driver assistance technologies are standard.

The new Mazda3 is a choice entry into the compact car segment and one of the only models to offer all-wheel drive. Learn more today!
