Here are the Three Engines Offered on the 2022 Mazda CX-30
July 18 2022,
The 2022 Mazda CX-30 is available with a choice of three Skyactiv four-cylinder engines that can make the CX-30 very efficient and very fun to drive.
A standard 2.0L engine
The 2022 Mazda CX-30 comes standard with a 2.0L naturally aspirated engine on the GX trim level. This powerplant delivers 155 horsepower and 150 lb-ft of torque to all four wheels through the standard 6-speed automatic transmission and i-Activ all-wheel drive system. This engine makes the CX-30 into a very fuel-efficient and capable sub-compact SUV that only needs 7.7 litres of fuel to drive 100 kilometres on the highway.
An available 2.5L engine
The 2022 Mazda CX-30 GS and GT are both equipped with the larger 2.5L engine as standard. This particular engine has an output of 186 horsepower and 186 lb-ft of torque, which is enough to give the CX-30 an extra amount of sportiness. Coupled with the automatic transmission and the all-wheel drive system, this engine adds to the dynamic nature of the CX-30’s chassis and suspension systems while remaining affordable to own, with an average fuel consumption on the highway of just 7.7 litres per 100 kilometres, the same as with the smaller engine.
The power of the turbo
The 2022 Mazda CX-30 GT is also available with a turbocharged engine. This powertrain is a modified version of the 2.5L engine that is standard in this trim level. By adding a turbocharger, Mazda is able to push this engine to produce 250 horsepower and 320 lb-ft of torque when using premium grade 93 octane fuel. This makes the CX-30 more powerful and torquier than most of its rivals and than other small SUVs costing much more. In order to reduce fuel spending, this engine is capable of running on regular grade 87 octane fuel, in which case it will reduce its output slightly, down to 227 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque.
