Here is the new 2023 Mazda CX-9
September 06 2022,
The 2023 version of the Mazda CX-9 will be mostly unchanged when it arrives in Canada this fall, which means that the largest SUV in the Mazda lineup will continue to offer the same characteristics that have made it popular over the last few years.
Lots of space
The 2023 Mazda CX-9 is the only model in the Mazda lineup to offer three rows of seats which make it able to easily transport six or seven people depending on the configuration of the middle row seats. No matter if the bucket seats have been chosen instead of the standard bench, the cargo area of the CX-9 stays generous, with up to 2,016 litres of space available to carry bulky items between the liftgate and the front seats. If a more balanced mix of cargo and passengers is desired, only the rearmost row can be folded down in order to open up 1,082 litres of space.
An advanced powertrain
The 2023 Mazda CX-9 is offered with only one engine: the Skyactiv 2.5L turbocharged four-cylinder. This powertrain is the most powerful engine found in the Mazda lineup with its 250 horsepower and 320 lb-ft of torque when using 93 octane fuel. This output allows the CX-9 to boast more torque than most of its competitors, even those powered by six-cylinder engines. Nevertheless, the low fuel consumption of the Skyactiv engine allows it to achieve a fuel consumption of only 9.0 L/100 km on the highway, which is less than many other large SUVs. This is even more impressive considering that the i-Activ all-wheel drive system is standard across the entire CX-9 range.
Five trim levels to choose from
The 2023 Mazda CX-9 is offered in five different trim levels that allow buyers to find the perfect CX-9 to fit their needs and their tastes. The entry-level version is the GS, which comes standard with all of the usual safety and convenience features. The GS-L follows and it adds items such as leather upholstery and the power liftgate. The CX-9 GT is more luxurious due to its Bose audio system and its ventilated front seats, among others. The Kuro edition makes the GT into a sportier model due to its red leather and black exterior accents while the top-of-the-line Signature brings Nappa leather and genuine wood accents to the CX-9.
