Mazda Adopts North American Charging Standard for Upcoming BEVs
January 17 2024,
Mazda has recently confirmed its decision to integrate the North American Charging Standard (NACS) into its Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs) that will be launched in North America starting from 2025. This move is expected to enhance the charging options available to Mazda BEV customers significantly.
Adoption of NACS
The primary focus of adopting NACS is to expand the charging infrastructure for Mazda's electric vehicles. By aligning with Tesla's charging standard, Mazda BEV owners will gain access to Tesla's extensive network of Superchargers, which includes more than 15,000 charging points across North America. This integration is a strategic move to simplify and unify the charging experience for electric vehicle users, making it more convenient to charge their vehicles.
Customer Convenience and Charging Infrastructure
Mazda's initiative to adopt NACS is a step towards addressing one of the significant concerns of electric vehicle owners: the availability of charging stations. The partnership with Tesla's charging network is expected to provide Mazda's customers with enhanced accessibility to charging facilities, thus, encouraging the adoption of electric vehicles. This development is seen as a critical element in promoting the usage of BEVs and supporting the growth of sustainable transportation.
Mazda's Commitment to 'Human Centric' and 'Joy of Living'
In line with its core value of "Human Centric", Mazda continues to focus on the 'Joy of Driving' while also aiming to provide the 'Joy of Living' through its products. The adoption of NACS is a part of Mazda's broader commitment to create enriching experiences for its customers, ensuring convenience and ease of use in their daily lives.
