January 31 2022,

Mazda has three vehicles that are among their respective category finalists in this year’s AJAC Car of the Year awards. The Automobile Journalists Association of Canada is an organization representing over 100 Canadian automotive journalists, and each year these journalists drive and vote on the best car in each segment. The winning vehicles are then up for the title of Canadian Car of the Year.
This year, Mazda ranked three vehicles in their categories, namely:
Best Small Car in Canada for 2022
Mazda3
Best Sports/Performance Car in Canada for 2022
Mazda MX-5
Best Small Utility Vehicle in Canada for 2022
Mazda CX-30
The Mazda3 and Mazda MX-5 are now eligible for the title of 2022 Canadian Car of the Year while the Mazda CX-30 is now a finalist for the 2022 Canadian Utility Vehicle of the Year award.
Mazda is no stranger to AJAC awards, having won the Canadian Car of the Year title twice in 2020 and 2021 with the Mazda3. The Mazda CX-3 won the title of Canadian Utility Vehicle of the Year in 2016 and the Mazda6 won Canadian Car of the Year in 2014 as well.
The winners of each category will be announced in February.
