Mazda Introduces the 2025 CX-70: A New Player in the Mid-Size Crossover Segment

Mazda Canada has announced the launch of the 2025 Mazda CX-70, marking the brand's foray into the mid-size, two-row crossover segment. This vehicle is tailored for drivers with active lifestyles, offering a blend of responsive performance and intuitive handling.

Advanced Powertrains and Electrification

At the core of the CX-70 are Mazda's most advanced powertrains. Customers have the choice of an e-SkyActiv-G 3.3L Inline Six Turbo engine equipped with M-Hybrid Boost or an e-SkyActiv-G plug-in hybrid (PHEV). Both options highlight Mazda's commitment to combining performance with efficiency. The vehicle's design incorporates electrification from the ground up, utilizing Mazda's large platform to support these advanced powertrains.

Design and Aesthetics

The CX-70's design ethos is a fusion of elegance and sportiness, both inside and out. Its exterior features a wide, low front fascia and a chiseled front end, accented with contrasting black elements and optional black metal and machine-cut finished 21-inch wheels. The interior, meanwhile, is both spacious and personal. It showcases a varied color palette, high-quality materials, and finishes like contrast grey metallic inlays. The interior is further enhanced by the available Garnet Red Nappa leather with red stitch detailing, a nod to the 100th Anniversary Special Edition MX-5.

Utility and Functional Features

Mazda has incorporated numerous new features into the CX-70 to augment utility and driving experience. These include remote-folding rear seats and an optimized rear cargo area with additional storage compartments and hooks. A unique sub-trunk design allows for discreet storage of valuables. The CX-70 is also equipped with new assistance technologies, such as Unresponsive Driver Support and Trailer Hitch View. The vehicle can tow up to 5,000 pounds on certain models and includes a 1,500W power output.

Technology Integration

The CX-70 introduces the integration of Amazon Alexa, a first for Mazda crossovers. This feature enables hands-free control of functions like temperature adjustment and radio tuning, and even extends to managing smart home devices. This integration aims to reduce driver distraction and enhance usability.

In summary, the 2025 Mazda CX-70 emerges as a noteworthy addition to the mid-size crossover market. With its advanced powertrains, distinctive design, practical features, and technology integrations, the CX-70 is poised to appeal to drivers seeking a vehicle that complements an active lifestyle.
