The 2023 Mazda CX-50 Stands Out in Every Way

The CX-50 is Mazda’s latest SUV and it is more than just a modified CX-5; it stands out in every way. It features bold exterior elements, a rugged character and plenty of interior technologies to offer you and your family the best possible driving environment in all conditions.

Here’s how the new 2023 Mazda CX-50 stands out in every way.

The 2023 Mazda CX-50 is more rugged than the CX-5

The CX-50 looks much more rugged than the CX-5.  It is higher off the ground and features robust body elements like protective cladding that enable it to tackle the great outdoors like no other rival can.

Inside, the cabin is carefully crafted with a blend of rugged, yet very refined materials and textures. But within this robust interior, drivers and passengers will find advanced technologies like the new touchscreen multimedia system geared with wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto.

The 2023 Mazda CX-50 provides top-level performance

The CX-50 is offered in three wonderfully appointed trims (GS-L, GT and GT Turbo), along with two powertrain options. First, the base naturally aspirated 2.5-litre 4-cylinder outputs a very healthy 187 horsepower and 186 lb-ft of torque. Next, drivers can opt for a turbocharged option of that same engine, producing as much as 256 horsepower and 320 lb-ft of toque.

A six-speed automatic transmission is in charge of sending the power to the standard i-Activ all-wheel drive system with torque vectoring technology that can conquer any type of road condition.

Drivers can choose between a series of modes to tailor their drive. The "Offroad" mode modifies transmission and all-wheel-drive parameters to perform on rough terrain. The "Towing" mode also makes the CX-50 stand out and modifies the torque distribution in order to reduce sway when towing loads up to 1,588 kg (3,500 lb).

A plug-in hybrid variant of the 2023 Mazda CX-50 is in the works

Mazda is planning to launch a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) variant of the Mazda CX-50. This specific model will not only deliver the same technologies and capabilities as the gas-powered variants, it will also let drivers use their CX-50 in the city and on the highway without using a single drop of gas.
