What is the Mazda Sport Design Package?

The 2023 Mazda CX-5 is available in six different trim levels, one of which is the Sport Design Package. Here is what it entails.
A sporty appearance
The Mazda Sport Design Package is conceived to enhance the sporty appearance of the CX-5 with the addition of items such as a black roof spoiler, black 19-inch alloy wheels and a number of gloss black accents, including the grille surround and the side mirrors. The front grille is also unique due to its Sport Red accents that are not found in any other CX-5 version. Inside, the Sport Design Package distinguishes itself from other CX-5 models via red stitching on the black leather upholstery and exclusive door and dash panels that feature a hexagonal pattern.
One of the most luxurious CX-5
The Mazda Sport Package builds on the GT trim, which means that it is one of the most luxurious CX-5 models on the market, second only to the top-of-the-line Signature. Because of this, the CX-5 equipped with the Sport Design Package comes standard with LED interior lamps, and the Traffic Jam Assist, in addition to all of the features found on the GT. These other standard items include a 10-speaker Bose sound system, heated rear seats, heated and ventilated front seats, LED exterior lamps, the navigation system, a head-up display, the traffic sign recognition system, and the HomeLink remote control system. In addition, most of the driver assistance features available on the CX-5 are standard on the Sport Design model, such as the rear cross-traffic alert, the Smart City Brake Support, the Radar Cruise control, and the Lane Keeping Assist.
An optional turbo engine
The Mazda CX-5 equipped with the Sport Design Package can be ordered with two engines, one of which is the most powerful engine currently offered by Mazda. This 2.5L turbocharged SkyActiv four-cylinder engine delivers up to 250 horsepower and 320 lb-ft of torque through the standard all-wheel-drive system. The other engine choice is the same 2.5L unit without a turbo. This powertrain generates a lower output, at 187 horsepower, but it provides a boost in fuel economy.
