What makes the Mazda3 perfect for active buyers in BC?
August 22 2022,
The Mazda3 is one of the greatest automotive success stories in recent memory, having come to do battle with vehicles like the Honda Civic and Toyota Corolla, vehicles that have sold in the tens of millions over the years and have a very loyal following.
Undeterred, Mazda came with a compact that looked fantastic, drove just as well and has since become one of the most versatile models the segment has ever seen. That versatility comes from having two fantastic motors to choose from – one of them turbocharged and good for 250 horsepower 300 pound-feet of torque – two body styles and two powertrain types, AWD and FWD.
The last one is a biggie for BC drivers; with our greasy fall driving conditions and proximity to more ski resorts than you can count on one hand, AWD is the way to go and. Other than Subaru, meanwhile, nobody in the segment offers it – not Honda, not Toyota, not Hyundai.
Even Subaru no longer offers a hatchback with AWD and turbocharging, but with the Mazda3 Sport, Mazda has that covered as well. In this spec, the Mazda3 goes from being just a fun city runabout (but nevertheless looks fine on the glass-lined streets of downtown Vancouver) to a proper performance compact that only the German luxury brands really have an answer for, and for a fraction of the price. Indeed, if the Mazda3 were to cover any more bases, it’d be turning triple plays like they were going out of style.
Of course the 3 itself isn’t going out of style; its varied colour choices, low-profile head and taillights and wheel choices have seen to it that the 3 remains one of the most unique looking compacts available today. Its optional leather seating, latest Mazda infotainment tech and high-quality interior materials, meanwhile, have seen to it that it punches above its weight class from the occupant comfort and convenience standpoint as well.
But don’t take our word for it here; come on down and have a look for yourself!
